@danluu I also used to close Chrome and launch Internet Explorer in order to click-through WiFi captive portals. If I launched Chrome, all my saved tabs would redirect to the captive portal: Chrome would obey the ‘temp redirect’ and discard the original URLs in the history/breadcrumbs
