There is no such thing as a “10x engineer”
Which means there is no such thing as a “100x engineer”
There *are* engineers who are 10x as good as someone else (at something in particular) … because that is the nature of entire populations
That does *NOT*, however, make those folks a “10x engineer”
Usain Bolt is a 3x sprinter compared to me (who is not a sprinter – but I *have* done an under 30s 100m before (once))
I get it: “10x engineer” is a convenient Spolsky abstractism – but it is *bad* :: objectively *and* subjectively
