“You’d think the Dell Deposits would make a perfect media story. It’s exciting. Billionaires share the wealth. With children. Parents get free money. Kids get college and retirement cash. The media should be tripping up the stairs in its haste to run stories on how to sign up. You’d think they’d praise the Dells to the high hills, if only to shame other billionaires into doing the same thing. But no. A billionaire voluntarily redistributed $6.25 billion to help low- and middle-income children build assets, and the press reacted as if he had donated a suspicious duffel bag to an airport locker. The story has entered the witness protection program and is now living somewhere under the assumed name “Miscellaneous Personal Finance Brief.”“ @MichaelDell
