@i_sing_my_heart @TimOnPoint Still has to go uphill – Lake Michigan is ~550′ above sea level Oklahoma City is at ~1200′ above sea level That’s a huge uphill climb (just on average) going close to 1000 miles (by surface road it’s 800 miles to Chicago)

@TimOnPoint 50 10′ diameter pipes is nothing compared to water needs (~78.5 sq ft) We’ve got bigger *culverts* than that to handle tiny streams in heavy rains (and they still overflow their banks) The newest tunnel to feed water to New York City *alone* is 20+ feet in diameter (~314 sq ft)

@TimOnPoint Engineering it is totally doable, but the energy cost of pumping that much water (particularly lifting it up the elevation rise) is enormous.
